I usually wear my most valuable pieces on the plane. That way, I don’t have to worry about them in my luggage at all.
I flew to India last year and brought back some amazing local rum as a souvenir. Just make sure you declare it on your customs form upon arrival.
Anyone tried the Alaska Beyond Entertainment service they offer? I heard you get some extra perks with that.
If it’s a sentimental item, take a photo of it beforehand. That way, you’ll still have a memento even if the worst happens.
I once wrapped a small glass figurine in several layers of socks – worked like a charm! Just make sure they’re clean socks… 😅
